On Thursday December 18, 2014, on the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Niger, the President of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou and the CEO of the Bolloré Group, Vincent Bolloré launched the first Bluezone of Niger in Dosso, built and financed by the Bolloré group.
Dosso’s Bluezone is a public space for Nigeriens, completely autonomous in electricity, thanks to the new technologies developed by Blue Solutions, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group.
Providing clean, inexhaustible, and free electricity, such is the ambition of Blue Solutions in Africa. The Lithium-Metal-Polymer battery (LMP) developed by the subsidiary, helps store solar energy during the day, which is later used at night or when it rains. This energy is permanent, unlimited, and environment friendly.
The Bluezone of Dosso, is more than a technological project, it is the promise for economic and social development for the city of Dosso and Niger as a whole.
This equiped space will allow the population of Dosso to access e-learning, the development of craft and agricultural businesses, along with new technologies, an unlimited internet connection, clean water, and medical care.
This Bluezone, entirely connected to the internet with free Wi-Fi access, is a secure and open space allowing controlled access through a subscription card.
