From promise to reality, the freshly built Bluezone in Niamey was, indeed, completed and is now being decorated for the much awaited grand opening.
Built on a 3 hectare site, near the passenger station, in the “hippodrome” neighborhood in Niamey, the new Bluezone will be inaugurated on Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 by His Excellency President Mahamadou Issoufou and Mr. Vincent Bolloré, President of the Bolloré Group.
More than 5 buildings and 8 halls of 63 m² each will be available. For the delight of residents, these various halls will be home to a SME business incubator, a multi-functional platform aimed at supporting craftsmen and artists by offering a workspace, internet connection for those seeking to expand their knowledge, and a music recording studio.
There will also be a flexible modern performance hall with a capacity of 220 seats, a 500 seat wrestling ring, a refreshment bar, a mini sports field and fitness trail.
Like all the Bluezones built by the Bolloré Group in Africa, Niamey’s will be equipped with LMP batteries (Lithium-Metal-Polymer), a unique technology developed and produced by Blue Solutions, a subsidiary of the Bolloré Group. The site will also be equipped with photovoltaic panels provided by Sunpower, a subsidiary of the Total Group. The combination of these technologies will help produce, store, and distribute clean energy free of charge.
This clean and inexhaustible energy will be sufficient enough to supply both the Bluezone and Niamey’s Railway Station, located just a few dozen meters away.
