Much more than a rail line, the Blueline is meant to be a line of life and hope. This 2700 km-long railroad will connect the economic and political capitals and large cities including Abidjan, Ouagadougou, Niamey, Dosso, Parakou, Cotonou and Lome.
Through the inception of this major project, the Bolloré Group is effectively transferring skills and technologies to Nigerien companies working on the site, including Wazir, Barka, CSE, and EAM. Thus, the rail line is being built by Nigeriens day by day, which, in turn, leads to the creation of a variety of values conducive to socio-economic growth and development in Niger.
As a result, nearly 800 Nigeriens work every day, directly or indirectly, on the construction of the rail line.
Eventually, this train will connect hundreds of millions of people throughout Western Africa and make it easier for them to meet, trade, and exchange in an entrepreneurial and peaceful environment.
