The Minister of Equipment, H.E. Ibrahim Nomao visited the railroad worksite on Saturday, July 4th, 2015, to assess the progress of the construction work for the first 140 km of track of the Blueline Niger Project.
The minister was accompanied by the Governor of the Dosso region, the Prefect of Birni N’Gaouré, the Director of railway infrastructures of the ministry of equipment, and several other members from his cabinet.
Welcomed by the Director and CEO of the Bolloré Group, the Project Coordinator of Blueline Niger, and all the Blueline employees upon his arrival, the minister first visited the concrete reinforced railway sleepers production line.
He then wished to see the engineered structures built by the Bolloré Group, as well as the track laying, earth-moving, and welding sites. Finally, the Minister of Equipment traveled to Birni N’Gaouré to personally inquire into the progress of the local bypass project recently launched.
Following this visit, the Minister of Equipment, H.E. Ibrahim Nomao said he was very pleased with the progression of the construction project and sought to reassure the entire population: the construction of the railway is well advanced. As a result, the first section, between Niamey and Dosso, is expected to be completed in the coming months.
