Since the inauguration of the Bluezone in Niamey on April 7th, over 11, 527 people have been able to enjoy clean drinking water. The Bluezone supplies and helps meet the daily water needs of over 50 families.
This service is made available to local residents by a borehole that draws water from an 80 m deep groundwater source, which daily supplies the population of Niamey, free of charge. Approximately 6,000 liters of clean water are distributed daily through this facility.
This timely initiative comes at a time where local residents are experiencing recurrent power outages which severely disrupts clean water supply in urban areas.
