In the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Employment, Labor, and Social Security, the National Employment Agency, and the Principal Labor Inspector for the Niamey Region, Bolloré Africa Logistics Niger and the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey signed a partnership agreement on Wednesday, April 22nd, at the Bluezone in Niamey.
This partnership agreement signing is aimed at professionalizing different fields of study at the university. It will enable students at the Abdou Moumouni University (UAM) to experience professional and entrepreneurial expertise using their acquired knowledge, prior to completing their degrees.
Mr. Joël Broux, Chief Executive Officer of Bolloré Africa Logistics Niger, describes the partnership as follows:
“Through this partnership, we offer an opportunity to UAM students pursuing degrees related to our spheres of competence, and teacher-researchers in renewable energy-related fields, to take advantage of practical training in the different professions available at the Bolloré Group.
Furthermore, Bolloré Africa Logistics Niger has actively taken part in the Young Professional Induction Program (PIJD) over the past 2 years, by contributing to the integration of young Nigerien graduates into professional life.
Indeed, we offer them a two year curriculum, which is later converted into a permanent work contract if the temporary worker is fit for the job. Out of the twenty six students accepted in the PIJD program since January 2013, thirteen have been offered a permanent work contract as of 01/01/2015.
This is proof of the commitment of our group to strive to continuously improve quality training and employability for young Nigerien graduates.”
